Featured presenters
The Man Cave
Presenter: The Man Cave
The Man Cave’s PD is designed to support educators in building stronger relationships with the boys they teach, grounded in evidence and shaped by our work with over 90,000 boys. It offers practical tools, fresh insights and space for reflection, all focused on emotional literacy, group culture and healthy relationships.
From doing to thinking: Creating space with GenAI
Presenter: Luke Clift
In the fast-paced world of VCE teaching, it's easy to get caught up in the doing — the marking, planning, and admin — and lose space for the thinking that drives great teaching. This session explores how generative AI may help streamline routine tasks and create room for deeper reflection and student connection. Together, we’ll consider practical, purposeful ways to integrate AI — with an emphasis on professional judgement, not platform-led pressure. You'll leave with ideas to work smarter and the confidence to decide how and when AI should support your teaching, not define it.
Neuroscience Techniques for Learning
Presenter: Kristy Kendall
Advances in neuroscience mean we know so much more about how students respond to, process, and use information all around them. There are clear strategies that can be used in class, and when studying, that ensure students learn to understand, build, and create their knowledge. This is particularly important during VCE years. Learn more about some of these techniques to help both you, and your students, get more out of each experience together.
Embedding First Nations Perspectives in VCE Classrooms
Presenter: Lucy Amon
Designed to help VCE teachers confidently and respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into their teaching. Through real curriculum-aligned case studies, group discussions, and takeaway resources, teachers will explore what meaningful integration looks like, address common concerns, and build their cultural capability. Walk away with practical strategies, classroom-ready ideas, and a clearer sense of how to honour both curriculum intent and cultural respect.
Engagement Secrets
Presenter: Andrew Douch
If students aren’t engaged, they’re not learning. So how do you present your subject in ways that hook them early, keep them leaning in, and make the learning stick?
In this dynamic session, Andrew Douch (aka the Edrolo Biology guy) pulls back the curtain on the strategies that make his presentations land with students and teachers alike. Forget the conventional advice about consistent design, tidy bullet points, and large, readable fonts. This is about how cognitive science, storytelling, Gestalt design principles – and just the right amount of weirdness – can make your teaching unskippable.
