New student homepage to build regular practice
We know from our data on 1000s of students using Edrolo that top achieving students do more practice than their classmates - in fact they do almost twice as many practice questions across the year. This wouldn’t be a surprise to most teachers but this data does confirm the value of regular, routine practice to build skills and confidence.
The new student homepage being released in Term 4 to all students and across all Edrolo courses is designed exactly for this, to help students get into learning faster and maintain a practice routine that is going to help them make learning progress towards better results.
The new homepage for students brings together:
- Tasks due soon, clearly ordered
- One‑click resume for each subject
- Motivational weekly progress signals

What students will see
1) Tasks, clearly laid out for the week ahead
Students can see teacher‑assigned tasks due in the next 7 days, with tags like Overdue, Due today, and Due tomorrow. Clicking opens the task immediately.
- Shows title, subject, due date, and completion status
- Orders by due date, tasks without a due date come last
- Updates as students submit work

2) One‑click resume for every subject
Each subject card includes a resume action to take students back to where they left off.
- Prioritises the most recent activity with question responses
- Otherwise returns to the last watched video timestamp

3) Weekly progress signals that motivate
Weekly signals help students build study habits over time by tracking questions completed, videos viewed, and time spent on a weekly basis
- Completing your teacher created tasks on time adds to your a student’s ‘Tasks Streak’.
- Most metrics reset Monday 00:00 each week (except for Tasks Streaks)

How this helps you teach
- Create tasks with a due date to set clear expectations and hold students accountable - these appear on the student home page.
- “Continue you last lesson” means fewer clicks to the first meaningful action each session
- Motivational progress cues builds momentum to sustained study habits

What teachers can do now
- Keep assigning tasks as normal. The new student homepage will make them more visible to students
- Encourage students to use Continue on each subject to pick up where they left off
- Share feedback with your dedicated Edrolo contact when the new student homepage is available including if you spot anything unusual

FAQs for teachers
Will this change how I set or manage tasks?
This doesn’t change how you set or manage tasks. You’ll continue using the same task workflows you use today. Student Home makes your assigned tasks with due dates clearer and easier for students to act on.
Will this change my class pages or content?
Content access remains the same. Students can still browse subjects as usual; they’ll just have a faster path to the next relevant action.
How does ‘continue’ decide where to send students?
It picks the most recent meaningful learning point per subject, prioritising items with question responses, and otherwise the latest video timestamp. If there’s no history, it offers a sensible start point.
Which tasks show up on the home page, and for how long?
Tasks due within 7 days (or up to 7 days overdue) appear in order by due date. Closed tasks and certain completed tasks may not appear in this list to keep the view focused. Students can still see all their Tasks on the main Tasks page.
What do the weekly signals measure?
At launch, students see a lightweight set of metrics such as questions answered and videos viewed. Most metrics reset weekly on Mondays at 00:00. Task streaks are based on completing the tasks you have created before the due date has passed. We have kept clear rules so students understand what counts.
Does this impact privacy or data policies?
The student homepage follows our existing privacy standards. Weekly signals are motivation aids, not surveillance.
